Why this route
The holiday lane. Groups and families landing for the beaches travel with luggage, boards and buggies — our Mercedes V-Class swallows it all, and child seats are free on request. Arriving on a late-night flight? The fixed fare never changes with the hour.
The route
This is the easiest airport run on the island. You join the A3 motorway heading east, pass the Larnaca salt lake on your left and stay on it until the exits for Ayia Napa appear. No town centres, no roundabout chains, no coast-road crawl.
Forty minutes is what it takes with no stops, and our cars do not stop. The only variable is inside the resort: in July and August the strip around the harbour and Nissi Avenue moves slowly in the evening, which can add five or ten minutes at the very end.
Arriving with children
Most of the traffic on this route in summer is families, and two things make the difference. Ask for the child seats when you book — they are free, but they are fitted before the car leaves for the airport, so a request at the arrivals hall cannot be met.
Then use the phone. Message or ring the driver on WhatsApp or Telegram once you have the bags and he will walk you to the car by the shortest route — about five minutes on foot. In July that walk is worth doing once, in the right direction.
Luggage for a beach holiday
A Mercedes E-Class takes four passengers and two large cases of around 20 kg plus two cabin bags. The V-Class takes six passengers and up to eight large suitcases, depending on their size — the honest answer for two families travelling together.
Beach holidays also attract awkward items: a travel cot, a pushchair, a windsurf board, golf clubs. Say so when you book — we choose the vehicle around it and agree the price then.
