Limassol says "from" for a reason: the city runs about 20 km along the coast and is priced by area — €70 to the Germasogeia and Amathus side, €75 to the centre, €80 to the western suburbs. Enter the street and the number resolves itself.

Meter or fixed price?

The rank taxi has one real advantage: it is there, now, with no booking. Everything else favours knowing the price first.

A Cypriot taxi meter is a function of distance, time and tariff band — and the band steps up in the evening. On a 40-minute run to Ayia Napa the gap between a good outcome and a bad one is real money, and there is no way to check it in advance or dispute it afterwards. On the 135 km to Paphos the spread gets wider still.

3. A changed destination mid-ride. Re-quoted before the car moves on, never afterwards.

Choosing between sedan and minivan

The sedan is a Mercedes E-Class: up to four passengers, two large cases of around 20 kg and two cabin bags. The minivan takes up to eight passengers and six large cases.
